I wish I knew how to edit stuff in SimPE. I don’t know if anyone else has this problem, but in my game, OhBehave’s Miasmata conversions are buggy as hell. They keep flashing blue, shrubs randomly dissapear and when I direct sims to do the gardening, they get a horrid jump bug. I wish I knew how to edit the files so that the plants won’t need watering or tending 😦
I’ve considered posting the request at GOS, but I’ve already have another request open and I’d hate to spam the forum 😦
I second this. It’s not just you, the plants are indeed buggy. Though maybe it would be easier to clone a decorative object than trying to edit the original files.
I’ve never worked with mesh editing programs before… Are there any tutorials for ultimate noobs? ‘Cause I once tried reading a tutorial on how to change the mapping on a mesh and didn’t understand a thing 😦
If it helps you if you decide to fiddle with this, I just wanted to say that I’ve never had a problem with any of the Miasmata conversions, but I also use a “Perfect Plants” mod so that no watering, trimming, etc. needs to be done. This might help you to narrow down where the problem(s) might be. As in, in the maintenance interactions, for the jump bugs. It also could be that they don’t have overgrown or wilting textures. If they’ve gone to those states but there are no corresponding textures to display, they’ll flash blue. (I know I have some Maxis shrub recolors that don’t have snowy textures, for instance, because they’ll flash blue when it has snowed.) Or I could be completely wrong! All I know is that they don’t give me problems with the way that I use them, so I thought this might give you some ideas as to where to look. It could be that Ohbehave uses a mod, too, so she might not have noticed these issues.
That is indeed the problem. I knew about the mod, but I like the idea of plants requiring maintenance. It means lazy sims get overgrown gardens and nature sims get to do what they like best 😀
