1. When did you start playing The Sims 2?
May-June 2005, I think? I was lurking on the Exchange and Mod the Sims way before that, though, getting excited about the gameplay and CC.

2. What did you like the most about The Sims 2?
The fact that you can play the game for years and still discover new things and funny details. And the community! I think the game would’ve lost it’s lustre if not for the amazing custom content being released by all the awesome and talented creators that we’ve had over the years.

3. What did you spend most of your time doing in The Sims 2?
Definitely playing. That, or downloading CC. Not sure if that counts as being done in the game, though. I like both making sims and decorating homes, but inspiration doesn’t strike me that often.

4. One thing you won’t forget about The Sims 2?
The random glitches! The last one was best. My sim went on a date with her vampire lover. Upon arriving on a community lot, the vampire spooked my sim (via the “Bleh!” interaction), made her piss herself, then promptly ended the date (with the meter fully in the red). A message popped up saying my sim was a jerk and didn’t care about her lover’s needs.

5. One thing that annoyed you the most about The Sims 2?
The game is/was full of bugs and you need to be up to date to know what to (not) do to prevent it from turning into a BFBVFS.

6. How has The Sims 2 impacted your life?
It was the first hobby I really dedicated a lot of time and attention to. Also, being part of the community (even though I lurked for most of the time) exposed me to a lot of new ideas and aesthetics.

7. Will you be playing The Sims 2 after the release of The Sims 4?
Certainly! I’m not planning on abandoning it just because TS4 came out. I’m not even sure I’m getting TS4. It has the same two problems that all instalments of the game had. First, the base game feels incomplete, partly because we’re comparing it to our current game, the one with butt-loads of CC and EPs and SPs, and partly because EA purposely releases incomplete games, to cash in on our need for content by releasing it later, bit by bit (the first furniture sets that were released with TS3 and the overpriced neighbourhoods come to mind). Second, EA releases buggy, half-assed games. Does anyone remember the “maid cleaning the aquarium” glitch in TS2? The one they patched after every EP only to break again with the release of the next one? As far as I’m concerned, there’s no point in acquiring the game before the mods have had a chance to fix it.

Okay, this came out more wordy than originally planned. Sorry?
